Having double battles be the default in game would fix the issues the games have with depth and ease; it's very obvious having a second pokemon on the field is better for the game in terms of entertainment and balance.
We don't even have a battle mansion/tree anymore which means there's straight up nothing to do but get online once you complete the story content. I'd be playing BDO if I wanted endless pvp as the post game content.
