>>53873885That's a damn shame. I was just about to start really praising the writing of the battles. They've made some really interesting adaptations of moves like Stealth Rock and Zen Headbutt, and Ash's strategy (Turtwig's Razor Leaf, Aipom's Focus Punch, Pikachu's Iron Tail) seemed like an actual strategy. It might be remembered that the last time Ash fought a Gym of Rock Pokemon (Liza and Tate), he used his Swellow. I figured he'd use Staravia since it just evolved, but he's actually being competent in his decisions. Of course, you could make an argument that Staravia at least won't get hit by Ground moves like Pikachu, so it's good defensively, but Roark can't use Earthquake, so who cares. Shame that Ash lost anyway. He was on the right track.
