When the starters were revealed, I didn't necessarily dislike Popplio, but I thought the other two were more interesting. However, Entermaid is by far my favorite of the three leaked starters (although I like all three), and definitely the one I'll be going with for my first playthrough. I love the sea, I have since I was a child, and I also love myths and legends. I've wanted a mermaid pokemon for a long time. I'm not a furfag, but I do enjoy elegant designs. It even keeps the 'circus theme' that everyone was so sure they saw, by becoming a performing mermaid, which were common hoax attractions, and are common themes for burlesque acts. Hell, she even keeps to the alchemy thing (undines, water elemental spirits often associated with mermaids and selkies, were first named in Paracelsus' alchemical works). I didn't want just another seal/sea lion pokemon, I wanted something different, and Entermaid delivered. The haters (who will undoubtedly call me a furfag, simply for liking the design), can fuck themselves with a rusty trident.
