Wokeness in Pokemon never started in gen 8-9, it started in around gen 2

they claim that the wokeness in pokemon started in generation 8-9. Yet, according to the literal definition of "woke" and "wokeness" the first instance of wokeness in Pokemon started in gen 2, Pokemon Crystal, with the inclusion of a female lead character (Kris).
I wonder if /vp/ is just blinded by the truth or they are intentionally cherrypicking those wokeness instance from the nu-gen game while at the same time, vehemently defending oldgen games and claiming those title didnt have any wokeness forced into these games (even thoughts there were alot of instance were they did forced woke shit into the old games, especially in generation 5, one of /vp/'s favorite generation)
