>Which Pokemon do you think will get cross-gen evos next?
So PLA started development in Autumn 2018 and released in early 2022. So around 3 1/2 years.
We're bound for a new game in late 2024/early 2025. Subtract 3 1/2 years, and we get a development start window of Summer 2020 - Autumn 2021.
Likely in that early window, they'd start making and selecting new Pokemon designs to appear in the game (Once the region is decided early on)
Right now, things seemingly point towards Unova getting something next. So what non-Unova Pokemon may get Unovan forms?
In Pokemon Masters, there have been a couple of sync-pairs involving Unovan trainers and suspiciously unfitting Pokemon
>Caitlin, a Psychic trainer, got a Sableye. A non-Psychic Pokemon not even in Unova's Pokedex
>Hilbert got a Mightyena. Another Pokemon not even in Unova's Pokedex
>Hilda got Grapploct. A Pokemon that came to be well after BW/B2W2
>Burgh, a Bug trainer, got a Togepi. A non-Bug Pokemon not in Unova's Pokedex
>Elesa, an Electric trainer, got a Togetic. A non-Electric Pokemon again not found in Unova's Pokedex
>Skyla got a Togekiss. Which although matches her being a Flying trainer, is once again not found in Unova's Pokedex.
Given when these sync-pairs came into existence, maybe the developers caught wind of these particular Pokemon appearing a future Unova game?
So they include them now so they can revisit these pairs in the future. Perhaps Mightyena and Grapploct evolve in a future game?
Other trainers got some legendaries, like Diancie, Shaymin, and Naganadel. They could make an appearance as well.
Am I stupid, or am I onto something? Like I'm feeling pretty good on Mightyena and Grapploct specifically. Those two just really stand out.
Sableye as well, so maybe a regional variant as opposed to an evolution.
