I believe that all Pokemon generations should be represented in some way.
Gen 1:
Pikachu
Jiggs
Pokemon Trainer (Possibly with Charizard XY mega evos to rep gen 6)
Mewtwo (Same as above)
Gen 4:
Lucario
That's fucking it. Gen 1 and 4 are represented, possibly with 6 having the mega evolutions present. That's why I want May:
It doesn't have to be May. But she's well liked, memorable from the anime, and we need more females. It would also be cool if you could change the trainer with your pallet swaps. Maybe default is May, red team is Nate, green team is Emerald Brendan, a white version is Hilda, whatever. Gold and Kris/Lyra would be good too. That's just me wanting that, probably wouldn't happen.
May would have Snivy, Quilava & Swampert. Why those three? Reasons. Those reasons being that it would be ridiculously shitty to have the same 1st water 2nd grass 3rd fire lineup as Red does, as well as making characters that would be viable for Smash gameplay. Plus, none of those three would play anything like Squirtle, Ivysaur or Charizard.
Snivy is the only halfway liked starter from gen V, and it's definitely the most likely of its line to be in, so first stage, gen V and grass done.
Which means we need Fire to be next stage. Quilava, Combusken. I think the half fighting type is too obvious, and when you think about the third stages for water... well... Quilava in. Gen 2, fire, second stage done.
Which leaves Swampert. Swampert would be fucking baller as shit in Smash. He's not too big or awkward or slow like the other water evo's would be, in fact I see him moving like Donkey Schlong does. Combine that with a lot of mud-based attacks and you got yourself a damn good viably kickass character.
The only reason this wouldn't happen is because
