You don't defeat a brat by outplaying her. You ignore her.
You let her seethe long enough for her to have an autistic break down at how unresponsive and jovial you;re acting and just when she thinks you'll acknowledge her crying and swearing, you give all your attention to your Pokémon and treat it nice.
You'll break her much more effectively than any correction would. She will grow to resent you and yet die for your attention at the same time.
She'll begin neglecting her own Pokémon, being autistically consumed by how much of a prick that one trainer was and frabricating scenarios where she beats you, maybe raging and packing a grass type for future fights.
