Going to request a source on that. As far as I know, GameStop doesn't reveal rankings on their website.

Pokémon gets to be #1 on Amazon. I don't mean #1 in 3DS Games, but #1 overall in Video Games (pic related, from 2013). Yo-kai Watch is currently languishing at #255 in all Video Games.

Also, the spokesman in the link says YW is "certainly" bigger in Japan, but even that's debatable, at least among game sales. The best-selling YW game in Japan (Yo-Kai Watch 2: Ganso and Honke) has been outsold by X/Y, Animal Crossing: New Leaf and Monster Hunter 4 in that country.
