I don't understand being upset about this when Pokemon has multiple canons, is inconsistent with most of them, and you're supposed to imagine your own personalized Pokemon journey anyway
Shipping in this series is all about being autistic enough to fill in large gaps with your own headcanons
Besides maybe Hilda and N will have some cute interactions in this event too
