It's better in ORAS because there was foundation in the original games to work off of. Honestly so much of XY's blatant issues being fixed in ORAS feels like such a waste of effort. They should have just made ORAS first without the new Kalosmons so they could focus on having all of the OG Pokemon first in proper games and then made new games so they wouldn't need to stretch themselves thin on having everything be brand new and taxing on development

Something they tried to do for LGPE, but instead of making a foundation game they made a shitty gimmick nobody liked that was a waste of resources that never went into future games because...?

FRLG is too early for Ethan, it should have let you discover the Johtomons though and incorporate shit like Houndour, Slugma and Murkrow in the main game. Mt. Silver should've been a new end game dungeon and the remaining 100 "Johto Pokemon" would've been genuinely discovered by Red and lead into the events of GSC/HGSS more naturally than whatever the fuck Masuda shat out

Rock-type Jasmine and new Eeveelutions should've been possible so Red could actually get an Espeon but I guess getting a Janine cameo was the best we would get. They mistranslated her name and vaguely mentioned Silver, but I guess it wasn't totally ignored

Given half of it is completely optional and out of the way of actually completing the game and the only worthwhile thing to even note in this entire route is that it has Jigglypuff, most people who grew up with Hoenn don't even know this place exists. Would be cool if it actually had shit but because it doesn't there's no reason to be here and it's another instance of Hoenn failing to make Surfing engaging

It'd be nice if the game actually opened up the good shit after the third Gym so you feel invested in actually catching shit instead of leaving you just with the same route 1 shittermons halfway through the game or giving you Pseudos on route 1. It should be route 1 shittermons for the first third, everything else second third and then end game are legendaries as boss fights. That would be good balance

There was nothing really interesting early on in Sword and the shit that I did want were rare encounters unless I did stupid fucking shit I didn't care about or required jumping through hoops for the evolution item like Alcremie. These games haven't had any good balance in mons since fucking Sinnoh
