Refusing to job no longer, Altaria uses Dragon Claw and forcefully grabs Noibat by the waist, prying him off of her head and dealing super-effective damage. Thanks to the snatched Cotton Guard defenses, Noibat does not faint on the spot but he's far from safe.

Altaria tosses Noibat away from her with all of her might, then tends to her ailing neck. Noibat crashes to the ground with a hard THUD, takes more damage, and skids across the battlefield, but still does not faint. You were definitely right to use Snatch when you did.
