>>55882400Well the way I interpret it is that you need an object to act as a medium for the attack to work off of, and it's by convention (and game design) that you need to use the target pokemon's own held item. However I reckon that it's not obligatory, just preferred.
For example, poltergeist can be used to deviate/stop/parry back a fling attack, can take the logical route and use other regular objects/debris as the means to attack the target (albeit then it's just Psychic)
, or you can do what I want to do and pull a gigachad move with Golurk, where he just fucking up and grabs an Aegislash by the handle, uses Poltergeist on himself (with Aegislash as the medium as it would technically count as a held item) in order to actually be able to move and do shit, then just excalibur it or something similar to picrel.>>55882708Never left lol, I just either lurk or respond without bringing up Hasumi.
