The lack of any enemy variety leaves you with little worry since you already know what to expect around the corner, either a Bokoblin, a Lizalfos or some skeletons. There's no real tension or surprise to be had. You can spend 2 hours exploring the surroundings of Mount Lanayru and there will be nothing to do. Not even enemies, just a barren landmass and coastline with 2 shrines, some ore rocks, 4 koroks under rocks and a goat.
