The reason I think Charizard Y is still possible for Ash:
1. Lance is still shown mostly using Gyarados as his ace. Giving him a Charizard would be pointless and his other ace is Dragonite.
2. If Leon could Mega evolve, we would have learned about it by episode 100. We know the fights will be in Galar so he has no reason to use it.
3. Alan has Charizard X again, obviously he would have no reason to have the Y form.
I mean there really is no other alternative. Unless it's just in the background somewhere, lol.
