Overjoyed, the two pika daughterus run to have fun on their now liberated playground. The Pancham boy follows at a slower and less enthusiastic pace, still stubborn and rather envious of your praise.
You decide to see if you can spark his interest somehow.
"You know, I actually met a group of Pancham bikers not too long ago..."
"Hmph.. And I bet you weren' even 'haf as coo' as them anyway.."
You fail to make a connection with him, and he strolls off to catch up with the girls. Thrown off and bewildered, you stand there looking like an idiot until Anna arrives to comfort you.
"Don't worry about him, he'll get over it in a few hours. He shouldn't be thanking you anyway, u-um, I-I should.. If you hadn't come along, I-I probably wouldn't have been able to get rid of those bullies on my own.."
Pikachu snaps to his trainer, deadpan glare and all, "You sayin' I ain't tough enough, Lasssman?"
He goes rightfully ignored, "It was nothing really, I'm glad to help out. So how long has this been going on? I mean, do these kids have parents or something?"
The two of you turn your sights from each other to the playground overhead, "U-Um, s-since I got the WcDonald's punishment.. I-I befriended them one day after work, a-and we all just kinda clicked. They all have homes and parents, no issues there. I-I think they just like hanging out with each other, they like and look up to me, a-and if I were to guess, they've taken a liking to you too."
"Hmm.." just as much lore as you would suspect from a pack of a little qt3.14 tykes. There is something else that you wan to focus on though, "So those rowdy boys I just scared off. Were they always like that? How'd they lose their hideout in the first place?"
