Speaking one worldwide language is the first step. There is hardly any need to keep any other languages, since they only serve the purpose of keeping populations separate and distant. Being able to speak English to anyone and that person being capable of answering back, no matter what country they are from, is huge.
I'm South American, I speak both English and Spanish, but I see no need to keep one of them if the other is already serving the purpose of communication. Spanish's legacy is important and all, but honestly, I wouldn't mind if tomorrow everyone here started speaking English entirely.
These language barriers that have only served to further embed into our heads that we are vastly different from other human beings are finally disappearing, and somehow that is a problem?
