The maps are way more polished than Pokémon XY, they feel more realistic and not a minecraft land with dollhouses. The battles are simple but intuitive.
A thing that people don't understand is that the propose of the youkais are not be "cool" or "edgy", they're directly based in japanese myths of creatures and ghosts that justify things in the nature, you would be surprised how weird and unique many of these creatures are originally, the game is not exaggerating it, they just cartoonized it.
Either way, it made think that Pokémon XY could had better overworld graphics and flow, it feels like a PS1 game for a 2013 release. The battle graphics are ok, though.
