Lets call it “Mega Burst.” There’s a generic version of Mega Stones called Burst stones that pokemon can hold. ANY fully evolved pokemon can use them in battle like Mega Stones and depending on which is less OP, you can use one Mega Evolution and one Mega Burst in the same battle or you have to choose between an Mevo or Mburst
Visually the the pokemon model just gets a bit bigger and displays an angry expression as a Mega Evo-like energy aura surrounds them. Mechanically every pokemon just gets a generic, not specifically picked stat boost, the only variation is high BST mons get less of a boost (the highest getting hardly any) and low BST mons get a more impressive boost. Some mons may get very little out of this without personalized stat boost distribution, but others could go from shitmon to at least useable, and other already powerful mons won’t get much out of it.
And then Mega Evolutions are more personal, handcrafted, and of course have their own designs for better or worse. There should also be some way to ensure the Mega Evo is always better than the Mega Burst version or else Mega Evos matter less.
