Nobody is doubting that Blaze Blaziken doesn't deserve to be banned, but it's a necessary banning of the entire Blaziken that keeps the meta simple enough for newcomers to understand.
I am curious, though: Were only Speed Boost Blaziken banned and not Blaze, where would Blaze be? Keep in mind that it speed ties with Gallade and has the two most powerful physical examples of its typing for STAB.
