Breezed through the 3rd Gym thanks to a clutch Onix I caught on Frost Mountain and stole a metal coat from a Bronzor to get Steelix.
4th Gym was a fucking nightmare. INVERSE NORMAL TYPE WITH WEAKNESSES. Had to explicitly game plan getting past Bulky Bewear Facade, NORMAL GEM FACADE MILTANK.
>Dark Gem boosted Snarl on Skuntank almost OHKO'd Bewear(had a fucking 90% chance) and then tanked a facade before finishing it off.>Swoobat was just switchbait to take the Normal Gem boosted nuke Facade. Someone had to take it.>Accelgor came in clutch. He guard swapped with Miltank bringing its Defense(105) and Special Defense(80) down to Def(40) and S.Def(60)>Magmortar then flame Burst Miltank down to 10% HP 3 times as the Gym Leader wasted all 3 of his hyper potions>Finally kill Miltank>Heliolisk Got completely fucking bullied by >Gyrados who intimidated him making sure he wouldn't go physical with facade, held a Charti berry to ignore his thunder wave, and completely laughed at his parabolic waves with 4x inverse resistence to electricity>Finally Lopunny. Switched to Steelix to take out 1/6 of her HP when she wasted fake-out on him hitting the rocky helmet>Curse + Rocky Helmet to the end until Lopunny kills herself on me.Then everything was going great in Thundercap mountain, Steelix was an absolute wall against the Admin who ran a Zapdos, but then I got a 1/10,000 chance death on my hands from her cacturne crit OHKOing my Magmortar with Sucker punch.
The fight happens in the rain, so the cacturne survived my Lava Plume with 1 HP. Due to my Magmortar's HP EV's in tandem with it being Hasty, the only way it's crit could have OHKO'd was if it was adamant with a 31 IV in attack. Only a 12% chance of OHKO at that. I lost a real one. I fucking farms magbys for 20 minutes to get that Magmatizer and now my bro Hot Foot is gone.
Now on to Mega fights.
