>>55329740I liked it, its the only switch PKMN experience worth a damn. I truly believe Legends Arceus is a step in the right direction for both tone and gameplay. I liked that they decided to explore a different time in the PKMN world. I liked that the people were afraid of the monsters and people and PKMN had conflicts. I liked that people in the village were hostile to the player as an outsider and you had to earn respect which was reflected by the game design (leveling up your ranking in the organization) this ties into the gameplay loop of catching PKMN. Progression was natural and filling out the checklists was addicting for a while. It is hard carried by the PKMN brand however. Without my nostalgic love for PKMN, a time wastey craftathon checklist simulator would not have caught my attention. I really hope the legends arceus team is allowed to work on/ has been working on a sequel or successor. They had more vision than SV.
Look at progression in an open world in Arceus compared to SV. SV just lets you loose on an underleveled world that the player breezes thru, then they hit a wall in the endgame where its basically "catch literally everything and grind sandwich materials" with no actual new content, characters or dialogue to string the player along after theyve beaten the E4. Arceus is more of a slowburn and was more difficult overall. Plus it encouraged using more mons which is fun for the kind of game that it is.
>>55329745>>55329755this is the reality of the situation. Legends Arceus is extremely similar to Palworld. I put about 60 hours into both so I can speak on this without shitposting.
Gamefreak still has very good 2D character art and monster designers. They could do more with better hardware, more time, and better animators/3d modelers. I love Arezu, I love me my classic creatures.
But holy shit you can ride half of the Pals in Palworld. Why the fuck won't gamefreak let players ride personal pkmn its so obvious thats what the people want
