Even on GBA the graphics in pokemom were slightly behind (look at shit like Golden Sun) and 3D pokemon titles have repeately been kinda jank, we got about what to expect, and honestly the reactions have been kinda overblown - what's to be so mad about? Some funny glitches that may have been forced or caused by emulation or going online?
It's a pretty fun gane and a good direction for pokemon, but I agree its not worth 60 dollar. Just emulate it, switch clearly can't handle it anyway
