I'm pretty sure I accidentally got the enhanced shiny rate version. My weird way of making up for this is that I'll only catch every 16th shiny. It's pretty dumb but that's what we're going with.
Also Steven gives you a Beldum in Oreburgh in addition to more free starters. Jesus christ. Roark also gave me an eeveelution stone but I was mashing buttons too fast and I got the Water Stone. I already have Bibarel so I don't think I want that for now and I'll wait for that. Eevee might become useless soon but I don't mind.
And finally, we got through Roark deathless because I have basically the best possible team to handle him. Machop was clutch for living Cranidos' Zen Headbutt. Turtwig got burned but managed to tough it out.
I expect Gardenia to be a lot harder since I don't have such an obvious advantage. Time to take a break.
