I didn't want to say it because it would make me look bad on an anonymous shittalking forum but I am going to say it now.
Gen 1 is the only good gen of pokemon. Subsequent games may have had better gameplay styles but as far as the setting goes every other generation after it is shit. complete garbage and horse shit. this is the kind of shit that happens when you get too rich. Pokemon gen 1 may not be perfect, it may have flaws, but it represents the point in which a small developer created something interesting that they wanted to make, every gen game that came after was too big to fail. gaurenteed by a sea of toddlers, there would be almost no quality control. So why do people like gen 2 if it was born to be garbage? I can also explain that
the sole reason gen 2 is remembered fondly is because it included gen 1. It leaned on the original so hard that it included almost all of it. And the only reason they where able to do something like that is it was back when iwata had the golden touch. That man made gen 2 pokemon from garbage to playable. Everything after was a slow descent into obsene mediocrity. all thanks to how much dosh the franchise was milking.
