Fairy type feels unbalenced and flawed. It was originally put in to counter the strong dragon types dominating the game but it failed in doing that because those pokemon werent strong because they were dragon it was because their stats were so high. Instead fairy became superior psychic type being super effective to fighting and resisting all of psychics weakness' causing a stir in the fighting, dark, psychic and bug dynamic. Their attempt to make poison and steel more common attcking types by making fairy weak to them(and only weak to them) failed too because there are so few offensive poison and steel type pokemon and moves. There isnt a bad fairy type combination in the game. The type on the whole is just too offensive and doesnt have and common weakness'
