Salamanders, by their very nature, are very similar to dragons. It's easy to confuse the two. They're both winged lizards associated with fire. But a Salamander still isn't a dragon no matter how much you want it to be one. Zard-X is a shitty design that only exists for fanservice. Zard-Y, appropriately, expands on Charizard's actual origins and inspirations as a living embodiment of fire, and to me that's infinitely more badass than any fucking dragon.
Slowpoke has more mastery than those two. It's powers overwhelm it's mind but it doesn't constantly fucking EXPLODE if it's head hurts too much. That being said though, I do think it'd make more sense for Slowpoke to be pure water then evolve into it's two water/psychic evolutions as a means of showing it's developed further mastery of it's powers, but it'd honestly be a very pointless change to make at this point.
If they did actually change Psyduck and Golduck's typings halfway through gen 1 to be pure water for that reason though...well, I'd believe it (even if it doesn't hold water to all the fucking grass/poison types that exist). IIRC Florges and it's line were originally supposed to be Fairy/Grass before they apparently decided they had too many grass types in Kalos and redesigned them to be pure fairy with a grass theme, so them doing that as early as gen 1 makes sense.
>calling me a pattern fagLook. The Stilt Owl is an extinct species of Owl that was native to hawaii that we've only been able to learn of through fossils. Patternfag or not (which I'm not because what fucking extinct animal is Torterra or Venusaur based off of, they're a fucking World Turtle and Jungle Frog for fucks sake), Decidueye takes a LOT of it's design from the Stilt Owl.
