I almost feel like Macargo would fit. Lileep? If you want to combine with the Regi ideas, the Regis are getting pissed because someone decided to toss the fire fish in the ocean and it's messing up their work down there. They gotta be calmed down, maybe a couple get recruited.
On another note, I've now finished Anamnesis. Still not entirely clear on the setting/how the stories connect, but it's good and very different from YAPMD, which I read first.
