>>29001565Carbink was to give some love to a forgotten Pokemon that I love to pieces, and nobody ever seems to remember it. If I were willing to use legendaries on the team I'd probably have Carbink come in a little earlier and then be replaced with Diancie, but using legendaries always feels a little cheap to me so I opted out of it. I was debating with myself whether or not to swap out Floette considering it's the leader's signature Pokemon, so I completely understand your point, but I felt like I needed something with a little extra omph during those levels that didn't resort to using Florges for over half of the battles, since there's near a 200 BST difference between Floette and Florges. Aromatisse happens to fit comfortably between the two, and has a vaguely similar stat array and moveset on account of being another pure Fairy type. Maybe in the future I would switch Clefairy and Floette as signature and partner Pokemon, since the Cleffa line is used consistently throughout.
It's really just how overexposed it has been lately. I don't necessarily dislike Greninja either, it's just easy to get sick of it when it's the latest posterboy of the franchise. Again, the ratings were mostly based on taste, so it's hardly an objectively bad choice for a Pokemon, I'm just not a fan.
