I've mostly just played Gen III, all the shiny's I've gotten were on there. A crobat (caught as a zubat in the Cave of Origin, ended up being way better than Groudon), A Trapinch, now a Flygon, named Pollux (caught in the desert while randomly riding the bike through) I paired him with my other non-shiny Flygon and changed his name to Castor. I also caught a shiny Beautifly as a wurmple in petalburg woods, completely random when i restarted my emerald. Missed a shiny Wingull once that I encountered before obtaining pokeballs on route 3. Overall I think I've had pretty good luck with my three random encounters, considering Flygon is pretty much my favorite pokemon.
