>>43241526>Darker storylines are cringy as fuck especially if you play games other than Pokémon.It's usually a hilarious ride if when it's done in a kids game or if every character is a pseudo-philosopher and the dark and serious tone is just used to hide a really shallow and basic theme.
It only gets cringy when the writers give too many winks & nods to the audience about how dark & edgy they're being. Like the lolrandom scene girl with the giant hammer is tonal whiplash incarnate but Reborn still manages to be an entertaining mess.
