>>37360664>And what's the single cat species that is famous for living in groups? Lynxes, yes? What is an animal famous for living in groups. Wolves. This means that Lycanroc must also live in groups, yes? Behavior means little here.
>I can see the long tail that real lynxes do not have, but where are the mane and massive round ears Luxray possess? What Luxray has isn't a mane. Absol has a mane. Eevee has a mane. Lycanroc has a mane. Manes come from the neck, while Luxray's long fur is coming out of the back of its head like a human's. This may be one of the reasons some people are saying that the Shinx line is also based off of a Sphinx.
The first depiction of the lynx constellation had the lynx with round ears that aren't massive because they weren't trying to draw a cartoon animal. Luxray's ears are generic and so large that no animal that size would actually possess them if they weren't serving a specific purpose, which Luxray's aren't. They don't point to lions any more than they point to tigers or cheetahs, which also have round ears.
>As I said, Luxray is a lion with some elements inspired by mythological Lynx (now I see it's actually a Lynx constellation). Pretty much no elements are taken from real-life lynxes. To say "Luxray are lynxes" is a massive exaggeration.Luxray is mainly based on a lynx constellation, as can be seen in its eyes and the star on its tail. It doesn't point to lion any more than it points to tiger (has stripes and "tora" (the Japanese word for "tiger") is in the Japanese name, Rentorar). To say that Luxray aren't lynx is just ignorance.
