>>57336809>This idea that "nothing is real unless it's spelled out in front of you like you're 5 years old" is something I only ever see in anime circles.this is exactly what I hate about anime and why I don't watch it
characters speak so unnaturally and go on weird autistic monologues just to spell everything out
(I get the irony here, but this is an imageboard post) and other characters just go along with it
in normal, everyday situations, they constantly re-explain shit that everyone in context would already know, instead of just referencing or implying the information like people normally do in a conversation
other characters all just go on pause as the speaker is giving their speech and largely just fucking take it
nobody ever interjects halfway through one of these paragraphs to disagree or contradict them or ask for clarification before they continue
no one in the show's world reacts to them like this is really fucking weird behavior
I can only conclude that it doesn't come across as weird to anime's intended audience
western anime audiences seem to me like special-needs children who honestly cannot comprehend subtext or implication or anything even remotely close to that
but they're not the ones making these shows, and I doubt that they're even the majority of the global audience
maybe it's a cultural thing, and people in Japan actually are going on spergy monologues like this all the time, and they're all used to it, so Japanese audiences don't see any problem with it
but I just can't stand it
I give new shows a chance so rarely these days because I'm so tired of this, but whenever I do, this problem shows up every single time
there's a reason why I always post gamerena
