>>51530220I just beat the first boss so I'm not too far (I'm only 7 hours in) but my thoughts are of such:
Cons:
>You can't switch Pokemon out on the fly from the farms to your team, in a game like this, you're building up several at once, so it becomes kind of a drag. While the six-pokemon limit is fine for battles, it is a bit tedious having to warp around just to swap out for context sensitive situations>It's not clear how to make Pokemon spawn without a guide and their conditions. This might be a pro for some who love to experiment and hunt, thoughPros:
>The agile/strong style is a great system especially for catching Pokemon. You can weaken any move or if you want to go big, strengthen any move. I would like to see this further expanded upon in the future.>Exploring the map with a full 3D Camera makes this the first true console 3D Pokemon game I've always wanted>Day/Night Cycle is not tied to irl time making it a lot less tedious. Good idea back in the day but now it's time to move away from it being set to irl time, in my opinion. >The atmosphere is impeccable. Don't listen to the anons posting the bad screenshots, the world, the sounds, the music, everything really pops. The game is beautiful in motion>The stealth catching mechanics is simple, but really well done. If you throw a ball to their back, it will give you a benefit, and if you initiate a battle from behind, it gives you an extra turn ala a lot of JRPGs with visable enemies on the map>The Pokemon really feel alive in this one, you can just observe them doing their things and they all have their own distinct personalitiesThis is just my impressions 7 hours in but so far it's just a shake-up I've been wanting from the series in a long while. I'll be okay with Scarlet/Violet moving back to a more traditional style, though.
