I really hope Gamefreak goes back to putting effort into the games, but I know they won't cause they don't have to. There's no competition for them, and people will always buy Pokemon because it's a fantastic world with tons of fantastic characters, the quality of the actual game doesn't really matter to a lot of people unfortunately.
