>>54202576Finally getting around to posting, had to move, but here's a mega update on the Yellow run.
Early run set an extremely positive note, that while being slightly shaken by the 1 for 1 badge to lost mons ratio, is hard to lose sight of.
Got every possible encounter from the early routes; Brock was an absolute pushover with Mack, but Mater's Sand-Attack really made sure. Misty got socked by Fillmore mostly, but Pidgeotto saved the day once the damage started getting heavy from Starmie. By this point, the deaths started kicking in though, and I was going to Low Kick Surge's Raichu into oblivion once freshly evolved, but with that scratched, the local Dugtrio saved the day with ease.
Erika's raised level cap is really the start of the grind to E4, but the Rocket Hideout + some wild battles put me in healthy range to sweep with my newly acquired Celadon RNG, and an incredibly fitting one to match what pushed me into this locke after stopping my first Nuzlocke with Yellow: Porygon. But, after acquiring the Super Rod and making some fishing rounds, I filled up on some potent water types, The King specifically learning Amnesia, which led me to not wanting to Agility cheese with Acer. Instead, I've been having a 'lot' of fun with Conversion walling Psychics and PSN status, which is the goal: sweep Koga and Sabrina with Pory + co. Most of my mid-game encounters have been repeats, and while I could've taken them and run mid-line, I grabbed Charmander and figured Yellow offered a slight ease of mind in that I can always go grab them and run mid evo. Trying to save one final evo per gen, and I liked that the line felt unique in gaining a dual-typing later on so Charmeleon feels like an independent Poke.
My question: who enters the fray? I can keep Pikachu I suppose but they stopped being my water/flying counter a while ago, and I considered Staryu for Psychic, but being triple weak to electric is a bit intimidating when I deduced my rival has Jolt.
