Dawn and Lucas then trades their Arceus to Ethan after losing to him in a (link battle for the title of undisputed champion - Red beats Brendan, Ethan beats Red and Dawn/Lucas) they go back to the present to bring balance by hatching a new Girantina egg and to fulfill Volo's wish to see Arceus power through his descendant in Cynthia.
