>new game with more polish, depth and attention to existing pokémon/mechanics I already like>new game with a new dex of 50-100 pokémon that I'll only like 2-5 of, only 1 or 2 of which will probably actually be usable outside of single player with significant grindingI'll take the former. GF can't do both, if they tried we'd both get fucked. There's already hundreds of great mons across 7 generations over 20 years loved by millions of "normal players" that could really do with some polishing/pandering and better animation, and even if some people would still whine about it (as they always do with everything that doesn't pander exactly to their tastes) I would take one more semi-divisive generation that at least sets the franchise in the right direction over another rehash of the same dull, stagnant shit we've gotten since XY.
I'm also not really thinking of just alola-style forms, I'd really like to see more subtle variation in general among things like alternate coat patterns, eye colors or whatever else, and dumping IVs for a more tangible system that truly makes things unique in ways that have advantages/disadvantages like natures and not just inherently gimping them from the start in a way that totally flies in the face of many of the series' core values.
