Even if they're abiding by Nintendo's wishes, they actively condone using third party services to chat and connect with other players.
Having fully fledged distance-based chat/activity logs in Ingress while having absolutely no means of communication or coordination in Go is shit. This should have been added within the first year of raids being introduced. Instead, we are years into raids being one of the biggest draws, while the gameplay remains virtually unchanged aside from fixing only a handful of the most inexcusably widespread game breaking bugs.
