Is there a Pokemon or two that you always have in your party? In Gen I-II, I always had a Charizard because he was considered the epitome of cool. By Gen III, I had dropped Charizard as a constant member of my team. At that point, Gardevoir took the reigns. Every play through of Ruby and Emerald started with me finding a Ralts on route 102. One time I was doing a Nuzlucke and wasn't expecting to find a Ralts as my first Pokemon on route 102, but sure enough, that was the fist 'Mon to show up.
Jump forward to Gen IV and Garchomp was added to my roster of 'always in my party' Pokemon. From that playthrough forward, I would always trade a Ralts and Gible I had bred to my copy of Pearl or Platinum as soon as I could.
I started playing Gen V games a little after B/W launched, so I managed to find a friend who had completed the game. I transfered a Ralts and Gible to her cartridge then had her trade them to me so I could play through the game with my two favorite Pokemon. Gen VI is going to be my first game in a long time that I don't have my two favorite companions with me the entire time. I'm hopeful about finding a Ralts because if its new fairy typing and the fact that a Kirlia was shown in the demo, but am thinking it's going to be a while before I find a Gible.
Just to be clear, the rest of my roster changes every playthrough. I'm just particularly partial to those two Pokemon.
