>>44295963Not really Hawaiian honeyeaters, they're more based on a different group called Hawaiian honeycreepers. They also feed on nectar among other things and are still technically, if somewhat barely, still around. They had a pretty massive divergence event, and there were roughly 50 known species. Baille is pretty blatantly an iiwi. Pom-pom isn't really specific, but yellow is the second most common color for honeycreeper species. Red-Yellow on the color spectrum helps them blend in with the ohia flowers they feed on and camouflages them from aerial predators. Pau is a bit of a reach, but Hawaiians would partially pluck birds and release them afterward to collect feathers. It's the blatantly hula one, so that might be it. Sensu is probably just gf being Japanese and putting in a Japanese dancer.
