The last episode of Advanced Challenge was filler, but it was fun. I like the implication that Jimmy CotD got a badge from the Cerulean Gym the same way Ash did. Middle Hoenn has a lot of these types of episodes, but something that makes them stick out is that they usually have some kind of continuity/callback to earlier stuff. ADV does in general: Kanto/Johto Pokemon that aren't in the Hoenn dex appear pretty regularly, and that's really cool.
I'm going to unironically miss the Advanced Challenge theme. Its an underrated banger.
