>>54465542I think for them, the release is essentially everything. Once the content is out, it doesn't matter what happens and how it's received. The interest in Pokemon is so strong that it can push the releases to be successes. This is partly due to its deep interest for some people and partly due to it not being COMPLETELY creatively bankrupt. So since the hype cycle and release interest is what generates sales, not the quality of the game, they have 0 incentive to improve the game after release. They of course still do little things, but the next release is too important to take men from and put back on a project that, to them, was already a success. It's a really fucked cycle.
