>>45264275>what does /vp/ actually WANTI want a game or a mode where the game actually requires my attention and I can't breeze through the main story by just mashing A. I want my team picks TO reflect more meaningful choices so re-runs feel more different.
And as someone who likes to complete the Pokédex each gen, it would be neat if catching Pokémon were more than just "throw Pokéball and hope it gets caught". LGPE/SS's overworld Pokémon was a step in the right direction, since I can now focus more on exploring instead of wasting my time with random encounters.
>We got a good story with SM, everyone hated itWe got A story, not necessarily a good one. But it was still more interesting than any mainline Pokémon game's story (yes, even BW's).
People complained because the cutscenes were way too long and way too often, not because they were bad.
>we had a focus on gameplay with SwSh, everyone hated itI don't think we had any significant focus shifts from the general Pokémon formula in SS. At least we got fewer gimmicks this time around, but that's probably due to how rushed the game seems overall.
