The existence of Pokemon having classifications like "Mouse Pokemon" "Cat Scratch Pokemon" "Little Bear Pokemon" imply that this world has these animals in it to reference to Pokemon. The Pokedex also does mention animals even to this day.
Raichu's Pokedex (As recent as Sun and Moon) entries reference Indian Elephants which means India exists in the Pokemon world and Elephants exist too, probably means other animals exist as well.
