Nowadays, I do a mix of both, because I still play the physical games in French, but I also still play competitive fully in English on simulators. As a result, I tend to use (writing or thinking) the English names for Pokemons and moves that are used competitively, and the French names for the preevolutions or shitmons (or shitmoves).
