No.
I would prefer more liberties be taken (for the better, like in HGSS, not for the worse like ORAS did) but honestly if the remakes are competent enough to come feature complete with platinum content and events and a handful of remake trappings it would still be the best Switch Pokemon game by a country mile.
We're at the point where a literal DS game beats the competition of Lets GO, SWSH, and Breath of the 5FPS
