why did charizard achieve charizard status? was it a good card for the game? did it have a lower print than other cards? was there some initial market manipulation going on? i mean, he's a dragon so there's that, but i find it hard to believe everyone found it the coolest from the start. blastoise has cannons, that's pretty cool. mewtwo looks like some space alien, that's got to be cool to some people. and yet they didn't take off comparably in price or recognition.
