Other idea, a game where you actually play as the Pokemon and can use the environment in battles like they do in the anime. You get your four moves, a jump and dodge button, item button being conveniently in a corner of the touch screen, and you can play as any Pokemon you have beaten (after the main game, so you don't just become whatever is the most OP in this format and breeze through the game).
If this one is fan made, you could incorporate a sort of world or dungeon builder so players can make their own little worlds (or remake the older ones, maybe to scale!).
