>>51151107Dw bro, I’m the same, I felt a lot of the newer titles lacked something the old games had, and were too on rails and handholdy. Then SwSh came out and brought like a whole host of new issues to the series, it was truly worse than I could’ve possibly expected. I figured the series was done for, but honestly both PLA and now SV have done wonders for raising my hopes again. They’re still rough around the edges but that was never what bothered me, what bothered me was how the games were structured in the most boring, linear ass way possible. And now here comes SV, one giant seamless open world, where you’re explicitly free to explore and do the story content at your own leisure, something I’ve wanted for literally the entire run of the series, and I’m finally getting it. So far there really isn’t any major read flags, they’re even supposedly introducing 100+ new mons for the first time since gen 5
