My fics about a gym leader becoming world champion and I feel like a focus on the battles is necessary, but there's some other stuff in it because I realize reading 70 chapters of battles would probably be incredibly boring unless I either cherry pick trainers or make them incredibly fringe battles. I realize I have to write an entire background for this, so I'll write a background on battling and battling tactics and come back here and ask for further feedback.
I do think battles need to convey what they're doing like in the games, just because the reader wouldn't know what the fuck is going on. I plan to mix that with other things but I remember reading some headcanon on here that red is mute and exclusively communicates with hand signals and clicking noises and while I'm on board with that idea, it just seems borderline autistic to write out in text and have anyone figure out whats going on.
